Jute Mallow (Corchorus olitorius L.) is a dicotyledonous plant species from the Malvaceae family (formerly Tiliaceae), native to India. It is also known as 'Jew's mallow'. The plant and its leaves are called adèmè in Togo, nin-nouwi in Benin, éwédù in Nigeria, 'Lalo' in Haiti, and moloūkhia (ملوخية) in Arabic. Dried and ground leaves are used as a spice.
