The Gboma plant (Solanum macrocarpon) is cultivated across Africa, the Caribbean, and Asia for its leaves and fruit. Also known as Gboma déssi in Togo, Shoko in Ghana, and Mantindjan in Benin, this spinach or leaf sauce is highly nutritious. It can be prepared in various ways and is often served with corn paste, semolina, Ablo, Akassa, or rice.
